Waiting at the Airport... surreal ~ Steph

So, here we are, waiting at the Toronto Airport.  Excited does not begin to describe the emotions of the kids!  As far as the adults go... definite excitement, joy and anticipation, joined by a decent bit of apprehension wondering how things will flow over the next few weeks.  It's good to know that God is in control.

It all seems so surreal.  After a journey of approximately 1 1/2 years, we are but an hour away from boarding the plane for our 14 hour flight to Shanghai.  You wait and wait and the process seems so long, but the final week has been much of a blur.  Paperwork, packing, finishing off a few things, more paperwork and packing, tidying and preparing, with more paperwork and packing!

Much thanks to Mom for feeding us supper last night and breakfast this morning so we could leave our house in tidiness awaiting our return!

We are surprised at how empty this very beautiful Terminal 1 at Pearson International Airport (Awarded Most Improved Airport in the World, no less!) is.  By what we've been told, the crowds in China will be much different!  Looking forward to it.

  1. Praying for your family's safety on the way there and on the way back (later on). Please enjoy your time there and we look forward to seeing more pictures and hearing about your trip! God bless

  2. Your smiles say it all. When Li Lin sees them she will probably be dazzled beyond belief. Have a good trip. You are on HIS ride now. Ropa

  3. How exciting for you all!!! I didn't know your whole family was going...until these pics :) Have a safe trip...will be praying for your little girl's heart as she leaves all she knows and comes to your forever family!

  4. I know you guys have been really busy in the last 18 months, piled up with paper work and running around. You have done it well and with dignity. (I say it that way because I read that in a chinese fortune cookie and it seemed appropriate.) Love you all. Mom
